THANK YOU !

All those members that attended Saturday’s meeting and a special thank you to all those that got signatures for the petition. When we come together as a community we get things done.

At Saturday’s meeting after hearing many members tell the board no to the Fine Schedule resolution the board voted  3 yes, 3 no and 1 abstained to postpone voting on the resolution for 6 months. And the president said she would put together a committee to look into other ways of resolving violations.

A ploy to postpone, hoping that everyone would forget about it?  Or is it an honest attempt to work with all members in a neighborly way (just like what we tried to do with the first committee)?

I am cautiously optimistic as the board knew that we had the required amount of signatures to force the board to rescind and bring it to a vote of the members if they voted it in.

MEMBERS MUST BE EVER VIGILANT
PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR BOARD IS DOING
ATTEND THE MONTHLY BOARD MEETING

IF WE WANT A SAY IN HOW WE ARE GOVERNED
WE HAVE TO PARTICIPATE

You can get the agendas 4 days before the meetings either at ldpoa.com or bulletin boards at market and hacienda.

And giving credit where credit is due here is how the directors voted for the Vote to postpone Fine Resolution for 6 mos.

Sherri Flosse, Jane Cloud and Julie Limbocker voted YES to 90 day postponement.
Ruth Smith and Robin Durrance voted NO.
Carolynn Bartholomew and Mary Garcia ABSTAINED

And on a lighter note.....

MEMBERS YOU NEED TO SPEAK OUT !

If you never attend any association meetings, this Saturday the 14th at 10 am is one you can’t afford to miss. Why?  If the board votes to pass the Fine Schedule it could affect you adversely.

Resolutions are operating rules and can be instruments of good or bad. A fine schedule is not in any of our CC&Rs.  This resolution is in effect changing our CC&Rs without the members voting on it.  That is why I feel that the decision should be made by the entire membership not only 7.

When the board realizes how easy passing resolutions is then what other new rules are in our future?  I shudder to even contemplate what they could be.

When the members don’t attend board meetings the board assumes that what they are doing is right for the members.

So please come this Saturday and let the board know what you want.

WE AREN'T JUST MEMBERS, WE ARE NEIGHBORS
